Boy's Dormitory 5 (Tom, Evan)

Penny, not knowing where else to go, as her bff FAYE HAS BEEN MIA FOR WEEKS, crept up to her brother's dorm room. she knocked on the door and waited for his response, wiping away some of the tears from her cheeks

"Yeah?" Evan hollers, not bothering to get up from his seat on his bed.

Penny opened the door just enough for her to slip through and closed it behind her. she leaned her back against the door frame "Ev?" she called softly. she knew he wasn't really the comforting type, but she just needed someone to talk to

"What's up, Pen?" he asks, his eyes still mainly on the book so he doesn't notice her tears. YES, he can read, OMG.

OMG EVAN CAN READ. PENNY IS SO PROUD.

"can...can I talk to you?" she took a small step forward, away from the door.

"Yeah, sure, sit down," Evan says, because he is in a mellow mood. Lucky for Marcus. He chucks his book aside and stares expectantly at her. Shit. She's been crying again?

she walked over and sat on the edge of his bed. she didn't want to look at him because she was sure she was going to start crying again. "Ev, I just...I need someone to talk to...Marcus..." she trailed off, not knowing where to start

Evan bites back a groan, but only because he doesn't want to set Penny off again. "What's he done now, Pen?"

she curled up, bringing her knees to her chin "he...He went to visit Tam...the one who made me think I was..ya know...pregnant..." she paused "i don't like her. at all. not after everything she's done. and he...he...he kissed her. why the hell would he do that?!" she could feel a fresh wave of tears

Evan blinks. This responsibility shit is awkward. He has no idea what to say. "So... you want me to kill them?" he asks, because in his mind that's the logical reason for her to be here.

her eyes went wide and she whipped to face him "what? no! no no no please no! I just...I don't know...I know you don't do the whole, comforting brother thing, but I needed someone to talk to and Faye's off doing Merlin knows what..." she bit her lip

Evan screws up his face. "So want to tell me all about it, but you don't want me to fix it?" He doesn't quite get the concept.

[just for the record, yea ya did: "When...When I was there with Tam....at her house..We...kissed." He mumbled quietly. "I'm sorry."]

Penny threw up her arms in despair "I-I don't...no I just...Evan, I don't want you to hurt him...I still care about him...I just...I don't know...i'm sorry for bothering you..."

[Ummm hence the "we" kissed. That does not say that I kissed her....it does not say that she kissed me....it doesn't say either so it is just assumed that I was the one to kiss her?]

Evan shrugs and pats Penny's shoulder a couple of times. "Not bothered, Pen. But if ya insist on spendin' all ya time with idiots like that, then ya gotta be prepared to put up with the bullshit."

Penny sighed and looked at him "I just...this isn't how it's supposed to be...it's like i'm never good enough for him"

-as Evan-

Evan gives her a sharp look. "Don't say shit like that! You got it arse backwards - he ain't good enough for you, Pen. Time ya realised you're a Rosier, and ya deserve the best."

she nodded "I-I guess. I love him...but...I can't do this..." she curled up again

-still as Evan-

"So don't," Evan shrugs, because he doesn't get wht she bothers with all this mess anyway. He's a guy, and an emotionally retarded one at that.

she let out a laugh "it's not that easy Evan...when you love someone...it's just...not"

-still Evan-

He cocks his head to the side, almost curious. "Then why would you bother?"

she stared at him like he was a nut "Because it's always worth it. to have someone at the end of the day that you can trust, that cares about you..." she trailed off "you don't understand anything about this do you?"

Evan stares back at her like she's the nut. "I ain't got a fuckin' clue what you're on about, little sis," he admits. All that stuff sounds pretty stupid to him - when you rely on other people, you get let down.
