The Prewett House

Gideon, who only went poof because of some bad internet, is back and quickly moves over to the table. "They look fantastic, Mol! You clearly have a fantastic assistant," he says with a smirk.

Molly rolls her eyes and expertly puts the right pizza on the right plate and in front of the right place setting. That would probably be impressive if one of her siblings had managed it, but this is Molly we're talking about, and she's been taking care of dinner for years. Do the Prewetts even have parents? They're sort of too awesome to have been born. Greatness such as theirs requires more of a spawning beginning. Yep, spawned from greatness, they were. She puts a pitcher of pumpkin juice and the spare pizza in the middle of the table and slides into her seat.
"Well clearly my assistant thinks well of himself. But in reality it's all to do with the skill of the Commander."

Dee is currently not able to respond. Her brain is entirely focused on something so awesome, so totally awesome, that her brain does not compute. So Alice just starts eating her pizza. Without a fork. Like, who does that?

As soon as Gideon sees Alice attacking her pizza, he does the same, abandoning all pretense at manners and digging in. After all, she started it.

Molly wishes she was shocked and appalled. She considers asking Alice what the point was of her even getting cutlery out, but then figures she'll only spray pizza chunks everywhere while she responds, and shrugs it off. "You guys are, like, so gross," she informs them, nose wrinkled. Much more civilised, she picks up her knife and fork and cuts appropriate sized mouthfuls, even though Lenore doesn't use a knife and fork unless she accidentally puts too much toppings on and they all fall off....

Alice learned from the best messy eaters ever. Can't break the habit now. Alice just nods, because she doesn't want to spray pizza everywhere. THAT is gross. Eating pizza without a fork and knife is practically human nature, even though Callie always has pizza with a knife and fork.

Gideon thinks that most normal people eat pizza without cutlery, just not this messily. He polishes off his pizza quite quickly, but leans back rather than reaching for the pizza in the middle.

Molly shakes her head slightly. She's only on her second slice. As she eats, her eyes flicker between the spare pizza in the middle and her reclining brother, wondering how long it'll take him to give in and reach for it. And how much of a fight Ali will put up for a share. Of course, with Fabian mysteriously and sadly absent, at least it's less likely the table will be overturned this time. Less likely, not unlikely.

Alice cannot deny she would fight for it. Her eyes narrow, and she uses her ninja vision to look back and forth between her brother and the pizza, ready to use her fast reflexes.

Gideon leans back almost as far as he can without falling over. "You know what, Alice? You can have it. I don't want it. I have to look after my fantastic figure, after all." He smiles, gesturing towards the pizza with a nod of his head.

Alice raises her eyebrows, and she reaches for the pizza, all the while looking at Gideon from the corner of her eye. She knew him well enough, knowing that he could reach out at the last minute and take it from her. But then again, he was a great lover of his own appearance. It could go either way.

Molly continues to watch, shifting a little further down the table from her siblings, just in case.

Gideon leans forward slowly, watching Alice and Molly's reaction. Then, suddenly he lurches forward and makes a grab for the pizza. He swipes thin air, and leans back again, turning back to Alice. "Seriously. It's yours."

[AND WE NEVER FINISHED THAT SCENE. BUT NO MATTER.]

Gideon is already here, having slid really quite fast down the bannister, purely because he can. He is just lounging around, wondering if anyone is around.

Molly is here! Gideon just didn't notice because she wasn't at her usual station in the kitchen. The poor oven has been cold since the last family dinner Molly knocked up, but it shall stay cold for now because Molly thinks she wants to watch tv. She bounds in to the living room and does not notice Gideon until she sits on her favourite chair... which happens to be the same one he chose, and yelps.
"OhmyGod! Gid, totally didn't see you there!"
She jumps up and perches on the arm of the chair instead, looking around for the remote.
"What's up, brother dear?"

Gid smirks slightly. He produces the remote from down the edge of the chair and hands it to Molly, fidgeting slightly as he does so. "Uh, you know, not that much. You?" He leans back and puts his hands behind his head, reclining only a little bit awkwardly.

Molly fiddles with her hair, a little awkwardly as well. 'Oh, nothing much. You know how it is. Scored a date with this guy, you'll really like him, I'm sure... You like tall guys, right?' She flicks the tv on and begins channel-surfing. "Oh you know. Like, nothing much. Did you know the giant squid in the lake at Hogwarts eats shoes? I think his name is Marvin."

"He eats shoes?" Gideon asks, trying not to think about him and Luna down at the lake. "How in the name of Merlin did you find that out? Don't tell me you went for a swim in there."

"Er, no," Molly says, still fiddling with a strand of her hair and flicking through channels. "But my shoes did... Don't tell Fay?" She flicks past a sports channel showing women's beach volleyball, kind of confused when Gideon doesn't immediately rip the remote from her hands to stop her changing the channel. "Huh. Weird. Gid, are you, like, sick or something? Want some chicken soup?"

"I won't tell Fay..." He does perk up slightly at the half-naked women on the tv playing some sort of beach game, but isn't excited enough to have his usual reaction. He is a little preoccupied, after all. Everyone seems to be these days. "What? Sick? No... I'm fine."

"You're a liar-betic," Molly chirps, because picking on Gideon's discomfort will keep her own hidden that much longer. The best defence is a good offence, right? "You have liar-beties. Twice a day you have to take a shot of insu-lyin'. Seriously Giddikins, like, what's up with that? Oooh, movie with big explosions! Now stop with the Mopey McMopepants act."

"Liar-betic? What the hell, Mol? Now you're just making stuff up." He decides to ignore the rest of Molly's comments, hoping they could move onto some other topic... But he doubts it, really. It's worth a try. "Explosions? Cool! What movie is it?" He says excitedly, because he really finds them that exciting. It's also a handy way to sidetrack Molly... He hopes.

"This movie? Oh, it's called Do I Look Like A Bloody TV Guide?, and coming up after it is Stop Trying To Distract Me And Answer The Question You Lughead and ohmyGod! As IF he would've survived that fall? Maybe if he was a wizard, sure, but this guy is soooooo muggle. Whatever. You were saying?" she says, all in one breath.

"Oh yeah, I've seen that movie before," Gideon replies sarcastically. "So very many times. I wasn't saying anything, Mol. You like, always do that talking!" He teases, flipping his hand in a way that very much indicates that he is Fabian's brother. He continues to watch the explosions and car chase out of the corner of his eye. "Wouldn't make that jump - unless his car flew..." He muttered.

Molly rolls her eyes and scoots around on the arm of the chair so that she's towards the back now, leaning her arm on Gideon's shoulder to keep her balance as she twists to see the outcome of the car chase. "Oh come on! He's got a machine gun and he can't, like, get one shot out of fifty-seven? That dude must have a totally awesome protection charm happening. And you know if you keep frowning like that you're totally gonna get frown lines, right? So you gonna tell me what your drama is, or you gonna sit there getting wrinkles?"
