The Owlery

*She kisses him back, not really wanting to leave right now, even though they probably should.*

Remus pushed her gently forward pressing her up against the wall still kissing her. He moved to her neck kissing her softly. "I guess we should head back huh?"

*She rests her arms loosely around his shoulders, closing her eyes and enjoying the nearness of him. She absently fiddles with the ring on her finger and smiles.*

Do we really have to?

He smiles and nuzzles her shoulder. "Not if you don't want to. We can do whatever you want."

*she smiles*

I just want to be wherever you are right now


[OMFG I just gave myself diabetes *vomitous flailing*]

[*overdoses on sugary cuteness*]

He grins and kisses her again. "Well wherever you go I'll follow."

*she smiles*

Well in that case, we might consider going somewhere that smells a little better. And I am starting to feel a bit tired. Back to the dorm?

*she takes his hand and heads for the exit*

*Hermione walks into the Owlery and sits down on a bench. She tries to put the reason for her visit out of her mind a few more minutes. Ignoring the soft hooting coming from the eaves above her, she takes the chocolate Remus has left for her out of her pocket, feeling like it was something of a poor substitute for Remus himself right now, and peels the wrapper back. She takes her time, savouring the taste of the chocolate melting on her tongue, telling herself it's not because she's procrastinating. Finally, though, there's nothing left to do but conjure some parchment and quill and start to write the most difficult letter she's ever written. She takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, opens them, and presses quill to parchment.*

*Remus totally comes in and sends his letter but it's before Herms comes in here. and I can do that cause this is AWF. now he leaves and heads back to the library to wait for a reply*

*Hermione sighed and just wrote, not letting herself pause to think about the words that spilled onto the parchment*

Dear Mum and Dad,
This is really hard for me to say, so I’m just going to say it. A few days after we got engaged, which we are very certain of and very happy about, by the way, we received a bit of shocking news. *her hand shakes so badly the words barely seem legible.* It turns out I’m pregnant. And I know what you must be thinking right now, and I’m sorry you’re disappointed in me, but I really need you now. Remus and I have decided to keep the baby. We’ve only just found out and it’s still all so overwhelming, but I just wanted you to know right away.
I love you both.

*It takes her several minutes to summon the courage, but finally she gets to her feet, attaches the letter to one of the owls, and releases it into the sky. She turns away at once, not wanting to watch the bird's progress, and heads out the door.*

Flint walks up to the top of the owlery and sits down. Bored.

Neville walks up to the top of the Owlery happy as a Hippogriff in a feild of dead ferrets and sits down by the other boy. "Hi!"

Flint looks over at the boy that just walked up and said hi and gave him a funny look. "Hello. Who are you?"

Neville sits down and smiles at the boy who seemed familiar. He looked somewhat like a troll he's seen before. But this guy had better teeth. "I'm Neville Longbottom. You?"

"I'm Marcus. Marcus Flint. What year are you? I'm a sixth."

"Ow Wow. I'm a big kid compared to you. I'm a seventh year." He smiles and is thinking off the muggle pull up commercial. I'm a big kid now.

"Nice. So what house are you in Neville?"

"I'm a Gryffindor! BRAVERY AND CHIVELRY! LIKE A LION!" He roars like a lion and throws his fist in the air mentally of course, he wouldn't want to look like a freak.

Marcus stares at the kid blankly. "I have class. Bye" He gets up and leaves thinking this kid is such a lunatic.

"Wow you must really like school if you take extra classes on weekends Marcus. Well I'll see you later." He waves goodbye and leaves.

James walks up holding a peice of parchment. He sits in a corner and starts to scribble a letter.

Remus and Hermione sit outside the owlery on the steps. Remus summons some parchment, a quill, ink, and tries to think about what he would write to his parents. Should probably keep it short and simple. He decides.

He presses the tip of the quill against the parchment and takes a deep breath. He hates the sudden nervousness that causes his hand to shake, it's ridiculous, but he can't get it to stop.

*Hermione watches sadly as Remus struggles, his hand shaking and spreading ink stains all over the parchment. She waits a moment, then puts her hand on his, stilling the tremors with the pressure.*

It's ok, honey. Take your time. Or... would you like me to do it?

His hand stops shaking and he is once again grateful for her presence. "No...I can do it..." He sighs and scribbles out a quick note.

Mum, Dad,
I know things are a bit off between us at the moment but, I just wanted to let you know Hermione and I are getting married tomorrow. I know it's short notice...but I...we would appreciate it if you could come. Even just for a little bit.

He stops and sets the quill down showing her the note. "Look good?"

*She smiles at him again, kisses his cheek, reads the note over his shoulder and silently waves her wand to clear up some of the ink splatters on the parchment.*

Looks perfect. I'm proud of you, you know. Suppose we'd better get this sent off if we want it to reach them in time, then.

*She stands up, brushes the back of her pants off, and waits for him to stand beside her.*
