The Kitchens

*Has taken a really big bite of pancakes and it takes a long time to chew and swallow. She wipes some syrup off her chin and reaches for some juice.*

It went well. She's happy for us - she said she'll help out however she can. Then again, she also said that this doesn't get us out of babysitting Hashbee and that if our cub has my hair she's going to shave it all off!

*Stuffs a hash brown in her face, whole*

[:3 well he can always get more food then...I'm just eating salad right now and enjoying making Remus all annoyed at me for eating it. *flails* okies i'm going to reply now Herms ]

[*won't let a Remione cub's head be shaved...or dyed, however lovely blue might look*]

He laughed. "Well if the baby does have your hair then I think she'll be gorgeous. Wouldn't want her to have my hair. Too boring. I'm glad Tam's happy, and willing to help out. Hashbee will have a playmate too!" He finished off his salad and got up, returning with his own stack of pancakes.

*She frowns*

You think it's a girl? I feel like he's a boy... I have that 'boy' feeling. Why else would I be so exhausted all the time - boys are tiring!

He shrugged. "I don't know. Just a feeling I have. And I'm pretty sure girls can be tiring as well." He smiled and nommed on a pancake.

Nowhere near as tiring as boys though! He has to be a boy!

He took a sip of coffee then another bite of pancake. "Well, okay, but I'm rooting for a girl because I'd rather have a girl than a boy. Boy's are too much of a handful."

*She smiles and reaches for seconds.* Well, I'm hoping for a boy who looks like his Daddy.

"We'll just have to wait and see won't we?" He grinned and finished his pancake then got another one.

*She smiles to herself, perfectly confident in her belief that she's having a boy, and drains the rest of her juice.* So, you want to be surprised? You don't want to find out I'm right beforehand?

"I like surprises." He finished off his food then grinned at her. "And I'll love to see your face when you find out I was right all along."

*Her mouth drops a little and she nudges him playfully, secretly elated he seems to be distracted from the whole mess with Sirius earlier*
Care to make a wager on that, Lupin? I like my odds!

"Fine, Granger. Name your terms." He smirks trying not to laugh.

*She giggles.* Won't be much longer you can call me that, you know. *She arches an eyebrow* Fine. When our son is born, I get a chocolate every day and back massages on command for a whole year. Your terms?

He was excited thinking that, yes, indeed, soon she'd share the same name as him. It made him even happier. "Sounds good." He laughed. "When our daughter is born, I'll be expecting chocolate as well and you have to rub the back of my neck whenever I want for a whole year, because that really does feel good. Sound good?"

*She pretends to be deep in thought, mulling over her options. Then she grins and holds out a hand to shake.* You're on. But don't say I didn't warn you when I'm poking you awake to demand chocolate at 3am.

"Haha, I think I'll live." He grins and shakes her hand but doesn't let go. "I love you, Hermione." His bad mood from earlier was completely gone and he was enjoying spending time with her.

You say that now, but once the baby comes and we both forget what sleep is.... *With a little smile, she pulls him closer and kisses him quickly.* I love you too.

"Hopefully you'll be able to drink coffee again after the baby is born. That'll help keep us awake during the day." He got up and sat on her side of the table next to her pulling her into his arms. "This is rather exciting. I can't believe..." He paused, paling slightly. He hadn't thought about that in forever why did those thoughts have to come back now? He shook his head, feeling slightly ill now, and rested his head on her shoulder. Just don't think about it. It won't happen; the child will be okay. "I'm happy that this is happening, but I'm even more happy that it's with you Hermione."

*She closes her eyes and settles into his arms, hearing the hitch in his voice and knowing instantly what he's thinking. One hand of hers drifts down to her still-flat stomach as if the baby is more protected that way - safe from the world and everything in it.*

I couldn't imagine ever being here with anyone else. It's going to be ok, honey. No matter - *She cuts herself off.* Everything will work out, I promise. So, any idea on what you'd like to name our son?
