The Grand Staircase

Angela choked out another sob. this wasn't how it was supposed to be. they were supposed to work things out and be together. obviously that wasn't happening. she stood up shakily and practically ran back to her common room to cry in a less public place, her dorm

Puck Trent walks down the stairs, guitar in hand. He sits on on of the bottom stairs and begins to play some song on his guitar, hoping for anything to happen.

Padma slowly meanders down the staircase.

Milli zooms down the banister, shouting "Hey there!" as she passed Padma. She came to a halt just before flying off and dashed up to meet her best friend. "How's it goin'?"

Padma jumped, then grinned as Milli went down the banister. She remembered the time both of them did that. Fun times. "Great!" she exclaimed, hugging Milli. "How've you been?"

"Dandy!" Mill replied, grinning. "Slidding down the banister is always a good pick-me-up. But I'm bored. We should do something totally crazy!"

"Crazy?" Padma asked, grinning. "Like, pulling a prank on the Weasley twins? I'm not very good at pulling pranks." She laughed.

"That is crazy! Like we could ever pull one over on the Weasley twins," Milli said, rolling her eyes.

"Well, it was the first crazy thing that popped into my head!" Padma exclaimed. "Umm... I dunno... This place has enough drama as it is." She laughed.

"True," Milli says frowning. "But what else is there to do?" she sighs, flopping down on a stair.

"Swim, fly broomsticks, play Quidditch, annoy Harry..." Padma suggested. "This is a castle of magic, there can't just be nothing to do!"

"All of those sound good," Milli says. "But which to do?"

Ro ran through with a bag of apples in his arms. He bolted down the staircase and out the doors.

"Something involving going outside," Padma said, then laughed and said, "I suppose that's all of them, isn't it? How about - oh, how about a trip down to the Quidditch Pitch?"

Petunia storms down the stairs to see a gryffindor in her way. She pulls out her wand and yells "MOVE." in a commanding way.

Padma looks at the girl who had just shouted, a little affronted. "Lovely way to start a conversation," she said cheerfully. "I'm Padma, who are you?"

Milli is almost run over by a guy running down the stairs with a sack. After righting herself, she looks up, and with raised eyebrows, says flatly, "Apples. That guy had apples." Milli stands up when the girl shouts. "And I'm Milli," she says, fingering her wand.

"I've heard there's some kind of apple war going on," Padma said mildly, watching the guy run.

Petunia turned her wand on the other girl. All of the anger she felt toward Lily and everybody else bubbled to the surface and one word rang in her mind. She smirked. "Crucio." The anger poured into her wand and she felt it release from her own body. She laughed and looked at the girl on the floor.

[Well that's pleasant. Was that towards Milli or me?]

[YOu. the one who spoke first.]

[Aha right... wasn't sure. lol]

Padma wasn't really aware that she had fallen to the floor, or that the pain was almost unbearable. What she did know was that this girl, if caught, would go to Azkaban. The use of an Unforgivable Curse on a fellow wizard or witch earned you a one-way ticket to Azkaban. "Goodness, what's your problem?" she muttered, getting up and pulling out her wand. "I haven't even met you! And what've you got against Ravenclaws, anyways?"

"What the fuck!" Milli yelled, her wand pointing at the girls' chest. "Who the hell do you think you are?"

Petunia smirked and didn't release the spell. "I'm angry. You're in my way. Its simple math really." but even then she felt the anger falling away, and the desire to hurt somebody faded with it, she felt the spell becoming weaker and sighed and looked at the other girl. "Doesn't matter who I am."

"That doesn't give you the right to use an Unforgivable on someone," Milli growled.
