The Portrait of the Fat Lady

Dom sighs before beginning to push the kids away, realizing they're not going to fit.

Katie strolled up to the portrait hole and stopped, suddenly forgetting the password. "Er...."

Sirius walks up behind Katie, before things happen with Viktor. "Hufflepuff smores," he mumbles, and the portrait swings open. "Hey, Katie," he says, looking miserable and clearly hung over.

Katie turned around not entering, "Oh, hey. Someone looks a bit worse for wear. Did you actually come back here last night?" She asked affectionally.

Sirius nods. "Yeah. I was here. Then I left. Then I came back. And then I left. And now I'm back. And you're here. So hello. You look rather nice today," he remarked, now that he'd taken the time to look at her.

Katie blushed and looked down. She hadn't really made that much of an effort, but he had noticed. "Thanks. I han't seen you ina while actually. I miss you!" She joked.

"Yeah. I missed you too," he said, and he meant it. At least Katie would never do this to him. Her, he could count on. He thought about how he'd rejected her before, and felt sick, realizing he somehow understood how she felt now. Fleur... James... how could they? Whatever. It didn't matter. They weren't worth anything to him anymore. Katie, on the other hand, was. He smiled at her, and couldn't restrain himself from giving her a tight hug, grateful, for the first time, truly grateful that he had her. "You're a wonderful girl, Katie Bell."

Katie was shocked by the unexpected hug from Sirius. He had been distant recently. Even though thye had spoken at the Lake. She knew he wanted Fleur and that all she would ever be was second best. But she would be the best darn second best he'd ever see. She wrapped her arms around him tightly, "You are also wonderful Sirius Black. One of the most wonderful people I know."

Sirius smiled and tilted her chin up to look at him. "Katie? Are you going with anyone to prom?"

She smiled coyly, "Not as of yet. Why? Got any ideas for a date from me?" She joked.

Sirius immediately brightened, and kissed her on the cheek. "Katie Bell, would you like to go with me? I refuse to take just any girl. Will you be that someone special?"

Katie beamed as though a fire in her had just been lit, warming her heart. "Of course Sirius. I would love to!" Her mind wondered briefly to whether he was picking her because Fleur was taken, but she cast the thought aside, revelling in her happiness.

"Wonderful!" he said with a grin, and promptly swept her off her feet and into his arms, swinging her around and laughing. "You'll look marvelous, I'm sure. But I need to get going. You wouldn't want your date to smell this bed," he said with a chuckle. "I'll see you around. I'm going to go shower. Bye, beautiful!" he called after her, heading for the showers.

Katie stood on the spot laughing as Sirius left. She couldn't believe it. Her and Sirius. She had to tell someone. Where was Luna when you needed her? With that she stepped through the prtrait hole that had been open the whole time.

Katie and Sirius walked out the portrait hole when Katie stopped, "What was that about Sirius... care to explain?"

Sirius sighed and pecked her on the cheek. "Don't worry about it, girl. Me and Whoremione can't fucking stand each other, but we're attempting to get along for Remus' sake, which is so clearly and totally pointless, as you just saw. I fucking hate that bitch."

"Okay..." Katie took a moment ot process it. "Whoremione? Really?" Katie tried to look stern, bit failed and burst out laughing at the name.

Sirius grinned. "I didn't even come up with that one. I honestly have no idea who did. I think it may have been Draco Malfoy- but the name stuck," he said with snort of laughter.

"Well it is a good one. I must say." She smiled looking into his eyes.


[Er, What is going on between them by the way? Katie liike loves him, but he loves Fleur....]

[I don't really know. Other than what you just said. I think Sirius is still conflicted as to what to do about Katie...]

Sirius smirked. "It is indeed," he said softly, then leaned in to kiss her gently on the cheek.

At the last moment Katie turned her head, and caught him on the lips. Gently he felts his lips graze against her and she pulled away, "Oh... Sorry. I - I.. Sorry" She blushed bright red and dropped her gaze.

Sirius laughed, and tilted her chin up to look at him. "Don't worry, it was an accident. Though, maybe it wasn't, and you just can't resist me," he teased, winking at her. "Let's try that again, shall we," he said, planting a kiss on her cheek properly this time.

Katie felt her cheek warm at his touch, "Go caught in the moment I guess? And I can resist you... You cant resist me!" She easily swung it round to playful banter again.

[I'M SORRY. I'LL MAKE IT BETTER LATER. PROM?]

Sirius chuckled and ruffled his own hair. "You go ahead and think that," he laughed, twirling a lock of his black hair around his finger.

[Okay. Cause I'm ill, -cough cough, sniffle sniffle-]


"Oh I will." SHe said, "Man it is hot out here isn't it?" She commented with a playful look in her eye. And then she reached down and pulled off her jumper expolsing her mid-drift slightly, and rising her skirt.
