A Random Corridor

"What?" he asks in disbelief. "No, she said you two just made out. That was it, a snog. She wouldn't. She would've stopped. Why should I fucking believe you," he asks though pain and anger starts to flow through his body.

"So don't believe me," he says, with a smirk, his stance ever-so-casual, "You know, Malfoy, I may be an asshole, I may have been the one who you girlfriend cheated on you with, but I'm not a liar. But hey, better to be delusional and happy than not happy at all. Gonna run along now, or sort this out like a man?"

Scorpius finds himself breathing deeply, and as much as he wants to not believe Grindelwald, he finds that he does. It would explain why Faye appeared so much more guilty about it. It would explain the satisfied smirk on Grindelwald's face. It would explain why he had let this whole think effect him this way, as if he had always known. He stares at the guy in front of him for a moment, telling himself to leave and drop this. After a moment's thought, he extracts his wand from his robes and points it Grindelwald. "What do you suggest we fucking do," he says lowly.

"What do I suggest?" he asked, amused again, "You can go back to the dorm, cry into her shoulder--or your pillow--about it for all I care. You weren't the one who had sex with my girlfriend, after all, but if you were," he dropped his hand inconspicuously to the pocket of his leather jacket, stroking his wand slowly, "I would take you on right here."

Scorpius feels his fist clench around his wand as Grindelwald talks. He stands for a moment, telling himself to calm the fuck down and not start anything. "Conjunctivitis!" he says quickly, intent on damaging Grindelwald's eyesight, but placing himself at an advantage and being able to bring more pain.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the movement of Malfoy's wand, and, reacting instinctively, pulled out his own, slashing it through the air, muttering "Protego" under his breath. The charm bounced off of him and he laughed, "Didn't think you were actually stupid enough to try, Malfoy," he said, pointing his wand at him, "Rictusempra," he said, merely for his own amusement, and leaned his head back--this was surely a joke of a duel.

"Aw, fucking hell," he says in between laughs then falls to the floor. "Grin-del-wald-fuck-this-stu-pid-shit," he says while laughing but unable to stop the really lame spell. He glares at Grindelwald as best as possible, which really isn't easy when laughing hysterically.

He cocks his head to one side, satisfied, then drawls, "You know, I feel bad, making such a fool out of you so early on. I should give you a chance to fight back," he says, with a swipe of his wand and the muttered counterjinx.

He pretended to still be under the curse for a moment, figuring how he should retaliate. He found himself regretting starting this whole thing. What the fuck was he thinking in pulling his wand out on Grindelwald? In one movement he leaped up from the ground and threw another spell at him. "Impedimentia!"

The spell had hit him off guard, and he was frozen in place, unable to move at all. In his mind, he said, 'avis', and nothing happened, so he tried again, trying to gage the time that it would take for the impedimenta to wear off. Scorpius's gloating expression bought him some time, and after a moment the little flock of birds flew out of Gellert's wand, fluttered, their silver wings casting distorted shadows around the corridor, and flew, all at once, towards the Malfoy boy, pecking at his face, his arms, his stomach.

Fighting the birds away from his face, Scorpius finally was able to shoot spells at the clusters of them. "Reducto! Reducto! Diffindo!" he repeated, fighting the birds off and blasting them to pieces. In a curious attempt, he shouted "Oppugno!" hoping to send the remaining birds back to attack their creator.

The birds clearly knew the man who had conjured them, and they merely swirled around his head, shedding a few silvery feathers into his blonde hair. The 'Impedimenta' wearing off, he was once again able to take out his wand, and the formerly pleasant, sarcastically polite look on his face turned nastier. "Feeling confident now, Malfoy?" he asked, letting out a light laugh as he turned his wand on him. "Crucio," he said, watching the other boy's face curiously, as if wondering whether he would be able to fight it, wondering how soon he should lift it, wondering why Faye would ever choose to sleep with somebody like him.

For a half a second, he couldn't believe Gellert had just said 'crucio', but in the instant before the pain hit him, he realized that was a stupid thought. He really figured it would have happened sooner than this. And then it was on him, pain ripping through his flesh, nerves burning, singed with unimaginable fire. He clenched his jaw and managed not to scream, though he fought to stay standing. His vision blurred, but he had a strong fight left in him still. His hand clenched around his wand, almost useless in the pain, but he thought of Faye and kept on his feet. He did his best to glare at Gellert with all the hatred in his eyes he could muster.

A faint smirk flitted across his face as he watched the other boy writhe on the ground, his face contorted as if reaching a painful orgasm, almost like Trent Reznor at 2 minutes and 34 seconds of the Closer Music Video but not nearly as sexy. He almost pitied the boy, not because of the pain that he was causing him, but because he had no idea what to do, didn't know how to fight back, and so, with a flick of his wand, Gellert lifted the curse, and shook his hair back, giving Malfoy a chance to stumble to his feet, and regain a little bit of his lost dignity.

Scorpius straightened up as quickly as he could, keeping himself from groaning as it hurt. That jackass, using crucio on him like that. Seemed like that was all he had in his arsenal of spells, were the illegal ones that rendered your opponent defenseless. Maybe he wasn't actually a good dueler. Maybe he just didn't give anyone else a chance to beat him fairly. Scorpius's wand was back into position as soon as he could manage. "Serpensortia! Oppugno!" He watched the great green serpent fly from his wand, hissing and biting at Grindelwald. He followed it up with two more before stepping up behind the attacking snakes, sending a final spell toward him. "Deprimo!"

He raised his eyebrows as the snakes came slithering towards him, his hand gripping his wand, he jabbed it forward, and the snakes turned into three identical whirlwinds of smoke which looped around each other, changing their course as the pressure that Malfoy had thrown at him knocked them off their course and towards him, where they coiled around his torso, tightening themselves around his body. 'Deprimo' was the only spell that he didn't deflect, and he was knocked into the corner of the wall, a deep red cut appearing at his elbow. "Incenido," he said, a line of fire dangling from the end of his wand, creeping slowly towards Scorpius, but awaiting Gellert's command.
