The Kitchens

Fred took a seat in one of the low chairs and glanced at Nikki. "Things are really good," he said, none of his usual cocky attitude apparent.

[Ack. I have to go to dance. Sorry. I'll be back in about 2 hours...]

Hermione smiles. "That's really great." She double checks the time to make sure she won't burn the nummy potato snack.

Viktor grins. "So vot have you been up to since I last saw you, Herm-own-ninny?"

Hermione shrugs and reaches over to wipe a little bit of drool from Kiora's chin. Then she makes something up, because Viktor and Sirius were the last people Hermione spoke to in character, and in the meantime I've been asleep, and then reluctantly awake. And even more reluctantly at work. So...
"Nothing much," she admits, but secretly she has been roaming the castle looking for someone to go Mama Bear on. "Have you seen Regulus again, since the Hospital Wing? Is he still wearing eye makeup?"

Viktor laughs. "I haven't seen him, actually. I'm not sure about the makeup. He said that he knew how to put it on, and that he vould vere it if I liked it, but I don't know if he vos serious. Guess I'll find out soon enough."

Hermione giggles. "Maybe he should be wearing it if he likes it, really. Next time you see him, you'll have to tell me if he's stuck with it or not, ok?"
She smiles and goes to check on the potato bake. Mmm it smells good and now I really, really want potato bake.

"I'll be sure to do that," he says with a laugh. "Oh, Fabian. Bringing fabulousity to the vorld, von man at a time."

Hermione laughs. "Nobody is safe," she agrees. "Still, it's nice that Kiora will have a more feminine influence, growing up."

Viktor laughed. "He can convince me all he vants. Viktor Krum vill not vere makeup. Ever. Nope. Not gonna happen."


[I might have to go soon to watch a movie in the other room, but I'll be on AWF with my iPod. ]

Hermione takes one look at Viktor's face and tries to imagine him wearing makeup. This leads her on to a very hilarious mental image of Viktor Krum: Drag Queen. She bursts out laughing so hard she has to hold onto the bench to keep herself from falling over.
"OH - MY - GOD!" she gasps out, tears of mirth streaming down her face. "YOU - VIK - KRUM - MAKEUP - IN DRAG! OHMYGOD."

"Ha! Ha!" he laughs a not so genuine laugh. "No! That is not funny. At all. Vy are you still laughing? Get that mental image out of your head. Do it. Now."

Nikki finally awoke. "Drag? Huh?"

Hermione collapses in another fit of giggles, because she knows no matter how big and tough and intimidating Viktor is, he'll never hurt her. She finally gets herself under control and grins brightly at him. "Sorry, Viktor, it's in my head forever now. There's no erasing it. Oh, hey, Nikki," she says, as if friends wake up on the kitchen floor around her all the time.

"And in your head is vere it vill stay. Oh...Nikki. Hello," he says quietly. Scary girl is scary.

Nikki stretched and stood up. "I would ask what the image is, but something tells me Viktor would no be happy, so I am going to just try to read your mind." She scrunched her face up.

Hermione giggles, but thinks of a brick wall, just in case. She goes over to the oven, grabs herself some oven mitts, and pulls out a perfectly prepared potato bake. She sets it on the counter with a broad grin. "Look! It worked!"

She flails grabs plates and cutlery and begins to serve out portions. "Dig in, everyone!"

Viktor grins as Mya serves the food. "It looks great, Herm-own-ninny!" He takes a bite, still holding Kiora, and swallows. Yum. "Wow. Remus is a lucky guy. This is amazing. You really can cook."

Hermione grins broadly. "Really? Well, thanks. Oh, hang on... Remus hates vegetables. Oh, no! What if all I can cook is vegetables!? He'll starve or something!" She looks horrified at the thought, even though Lenore figures that unless he's retarded, he can cook his own damned food if he doesn't like what she serves.

Nikki shrugged when nothing appeared in her mind. "Hermione, it looks delish, but I hould probably go shower after sleeping on the floor all night. Byes!" And she left.

Hermione tries not to pout at Mama Bear's loss of a chance to feed someone.

"I'm sure he'll love votever you make for him," he said with a warm smile, sort of wondering if Regulus can cook. "And if not, he can live off of takeout," he added with a nod. "Bye Nikki!"

She laughs. "Good plan." She takes a bite and grins, proud of her concoction. "Oh, hey, are you alright with her?" she asks when she swallows, realising she's left Viktor to hold the baby while he tries to eat.

"Oh, she's fine. I like holding her. Really, I don't mind at all. Should probably get used to it anyvay if Dijinn is right about Reg and me. And Dijinn is usually alvays right."
