The Library

Dee was torn between sending him away, or begging him to stay. Her mouth dropped open a bit, but she closed it quickly. "No... you can stay."

He tilted his head and looked at her. "Alright. I'll stay." He sat down next to her. "Dee. I'm sorry if I hurt you. Whatever it was between Ang and me, it didn't mean anything."

"It's fine," she sent absentmindedly. "I'm not sure why I care so much anyway... I mean, um... never mind." She hides behind her encyclopedia.

"No," he says as he gently pushes the book down to look her in the face. "What were you going to say? You can tell me."

Dee bites her lip. "Nothing, nothing. It's not like I felt er- bad about the whole thing."

"You did?" he asked softly. "It's- I-" He sighed and thought of what to say. "I thought I did something wrong... By kissing you that day."

"No, no. It's fine." Dee glances down at her shoes. "I just don't know what to do now."

"Neither do I. I still like you Dee. I always have."

"I- I do too. But I don't see how it's going to work out. I just don't."

"Why not? Why wouldn't it work?" he asked sadly.

"I don't know, Al." She hides behind her book. "I just..." She trails off.

He looked at her with a sad, puppy dog face. "Maybe I should go then."

Dee smiles sadly. "If you want." She gives him a kiss on the cheek and wanders off into the shelves. She sees a naked Luna and Rolf and screams bloody murder.

"Fine," he said sadly. "I guess I'll go. . . If you're not going to stop me."

Dee's head pokes out from behind a shelf. "Sorry Al. I really am. I... never mind. Bye." And then she disappears.

*sobs and blames it all on Luna*

He felt his eyes water up as he left the library.

Polly's here because she's bored and misses her charming friend Gideon, who rescued her from that creepy Evan bloke. Lalala, she sits at a table to read.

Gideon wanders in, because AJ is procrastinating her uni work and because he misses Polly, looking lost and confused. It's almost as if he doesn't know what a book is. He spots Apolline sitting at a table with a book, and sits down beside her. "Hey, watcha reading?" He asks cockily.

Polly looks up, mildly annoyed that someone would distract her from her reading, but it's Gideon and her eyes light up. There were many bad distractions out there but, he was not one of them. "'Ey! Um, just some stuff for DADA class. 'Ow 'ave you been?"

He sees Polly's eyes light up, and it makes him this weird kind of happy. Good, but weird. "I'm not bad, you? Better for seeing you, of course." He grinned.

She smiled happily, but cursed her face for getting pink. He made her blush so easily. "I'm doing well! Very well at ze moment now zat you're 'ere." She blushed darker. "Well...I mean, cause...yeah. I've missed you..." Was that weird to say? They'd only just met really, but she really had been missing him.

Gideon watched with mild amusement as Polly stumbled over her words and blushed as red as a Quaffle. Glad to see the Prewett charms are still working, then. "Well, I missed you too, I must admit," he said quickly, before realising what he said. Why did I say that out loud? Now I'm going to look like an idiot, and besides, we barely know each other. I did miss her, though. Maybe she did put me under some kind of spell...

A Quaffle had nothing on this face. It was RED. Even Remus' Quaffle impressions were nothing compared to this. Polly was sure her face would just melt off. She hated blushing so easily. Well...even more easily when she was around him. "Well, zat's...good. I'd be razzer sad if you didn't miss me at all." Yeah, she should just hide her head under all these books right now.

Gideon had noticed Polly's even more increased blushing and mortification, but because he is male for some unknown reason assumed that it was not all his fault, so he put his hand lightly on her arm and asked softly, "You okay?" Why are we so awkward now? It was fine before...
