Hospital Wing

"I...i don't know. I don't recognise him. Here, i'll send soemhting out, maybe soemone will recognise him." he sends out a magical bulletin.

Milli shakily pulls a chair next to the bed. She was not going to leave until someone he knew came. It was just too sad to leave him here alone.

Joel was toally crushed and walked dejectedly back to his office for some tea.

[I really want Mya to show up, but I'm at work and don't know how long I'll be here! ]

*Hermione, having received the magical bulletin whilst in the Library, decides to stop by on her way back to the dorm. She's not too concerned - surely none of her friends would have jumped off the Astronomy Tower, she'd know if any of them were so upset; they'd have come to her. But still, she thinks if she can help identify the body, she ought to try.*

*She glances around the quiet Hospital Wing. The corner bed has curtains drawn around it. Tentatively, she takes a few steps towards it. When Joel, or anybody else, does not appear to stop her, she slowly closes the distance. Her hand curls around the fabric hiding the body from view, the stench of blood fills her nostrils. Hermione blanches. Steeling her nerves, closing her eyes, she gently pulls the curtain back.*

*She opens her eyes. The blood drains from her face.*

J-James....?

*It finally occurs to Lenore that dead people don't post, so Hermione starts to shake, her hand trembling around the curtain. Tears quickly flooding her vision, she stumbles forwards a few steps to the bedside, staring down at the broken body on the bed. Without really thinking about it, she pulls out her wand and whispers Occulus Reparo! to fix the cracked lenses and bent frames of his glasses.*

Oh... oh, no...

*With shaking fingers, she reaches out and lightly touches his hand - it's cold and strange under her touch already. Her shoulders begin to shake.*

[Mya, I just needed you to know that, Gellert will still kill Barty because Evan will NEVER EVER get to Fleur.]

[there's not going to be much left to kill, but ok! ]

[Oh god. I can't let Mya do this alone. Hold on one sec I'm hopping on my Rose account]

[BARTY LEFT THE FIREPLACE, MYA. I'M REALLY SORRY.]

[I don't know if she'll want someone she doesn't know there.... :/ ]

[ONE HIT, MAN! EVAN DESERVED TO GET ONE STINKING HIT IN! ]

[Well nevermind then. -logs back in as James-]

*Hermione starts to tremble in earnest, a million and one thoughts running through her mind. How had this happened? Why? Why had he done it, instead of talking to her, to Remus, to anyone? Her mind flashes back to that day in the classroom, where he'd pushed her and Kiora away, shut them out... She should've known then something was really wrong. She should've tried harder. Should've insisted he come back to Gryffindor, forced him to eat, stayed til he talked, done something different. Maybe if she had.... A harsh sob tears from her throat.*

This is all my fault.

I'm so sorry...

*She has no idea how long she stands there for, shaking and sobbing with her hand resting on James' cold one. But finally, she can't stand it anymore. Feeling at least fifty years older, she squeezes her friend's -the godfather of her child's- hand one final time and turns away. With slow, pained, burdened movements, she shuffles towards Joel's office, not looking back because she knows she can't without completely breaking down. When she leaves his name for Joel to notify his parents, she almost chokes on the sounds as they force their way through her lips. Then she walks out, shoulders hunched, eyes red.*

How am I meant to tell Remus? How am I meant to tell him one of his best friends is dead, because I was too stupid and selfish to pay attention?

Lily walks into the Hospital Wing and walks over to Joel. "I saw what happened to James and I wanted to know. If...If I can give him my soul?"

[Omg you people are persistent. I'll sleep on it. If, when I wake up, I feel differently about having a dead James, I'll have him go on hiatus outside of Hogwarts. But I'm pretty sure he's going to stay dead. I can't deal with him anymore. If I do let you guys makes up some way to bring him back, it'll be just so I can send him far, far away until I can handle that character again. Which might not be till 2.0 anyways. Because James' life sucks. But that's even if I let you guys bring him back to life. We'll see tomorrow.]

Joel, having just returned from a nap in real life and who is now feeling insanely better than earlier, stepped out of his office a bottle of firewhiskey in tow. He hiccupped slightly, having finished off a few bottles already. "Eh? 'Orry bout this. Firs -hic- psheent i lost." he scrubbed at his eyes, muttering spells to sober up. "Didn't even recognise him, which is sad. I know him, i've treated him before for duels..." he babbled on for a bit and then collapsed to the floor. "I've never lost a patient, ya ken? Never. And i lost him." He didn't even bother answering her question. The sober spells weren't working, so he turned into a silently crying mess on the floor. That's drunk.

[*cuddles and sobs with Joel*]

[yeah it posted, but it's doing funny things with the information screen! *stabs* *keeps sobbing and cuddling*]

[I shouldn't have read this before school. I am going to be depressed all day.]

And then Milli left because there's only so long you can stay with a dead body.
