The Grand Staircase

"Lead the way!" she chirps.

"Okay!" Padma opens the doors, goes outside and ends up at the dock.

Tam started walking up the staircase. She didn't know where she was going but she just wanted to get away... it was all too much.

[Sliding down the banister is a great stress reliever...Just sayin'. ]

[actually I'm here to have my heart broken... but if not then that would be fun!]

[Aww! I will be creeping, for an OOC shoulder to cry on!]

Pete, walking down the staircase, sees Tam coming the opposite way. Still feeling cold towards her about the prank, he greets her with a pointed, "Hi."

Tam smiled as she saw Peter then at his cold tone her face hardened. "Hello"

"How are you?" he asked, leaning against the banister, and, sighing, looked down at her. "I still think that that was a terrible prank, Tam. You should have seen Sirius. And you of all people should have known better."

"Sirius' reaction? YOU TOLD HIM!" She stared at him aghast, "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?"

[Is confused... Why is Pete not enjoying pranks? Pardon me. Continue as you were. *noms on popcorn and other movie theater delicacies*]

"I did not tell him. He heard that Dee was pregnant and he reacted like a normal person. He felt terribly. What could he do? He thought he'd knocked up your kid sister. He'd told all the other marauders before I came in, I just--I can't believe that you would do something like that. Pranks are supposed to be funny. That wasn't funny, that was just mean."

"Oh so he doesn't know about the prank?" Tam breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank merlin."

He narrowed his eyes in confusion. "Of course he does. You expected me to just sit around and let him think that? Because it hurts to think that, Tam. Maybe you don't remember. Or, you know what, I think you do remember, and that's why you're even doing this," he bites his lip, "You just want everyone else to have to go through everything that you had to go through. You want to show them that you're better, and that you can trick them, and that you can fool them into thinking that their lives are falling apart."

"Wha- How can you say that? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU KNOW ANYTHING?!?!? HUH?!? WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN!?!" Tam took a step towards him, "And really Peter, what happened to trust? Between us? I guess 'Bros before Ho's' really is true."

"You're not a ho to me, Tam, you're my girlfriend and I love you. The saying only works when you're talking about one night stands. The whole reason we even have to have this conversation is because we're in a relationship and I actually give a fuck what happens to you, and you know what, I also give a fuck what happens to everyone else. Do you not care or something? Because if that's the case, you should probably let me know."

Tam couldn't answer his question. It wasn't that she didn't care, but at the same time she wasn't wholly certain that he wasn't right. "I... I just don't know. I though we would work out this time... really honestly work out... go back to what we had before. That happiness and the ease of everything, I just miss it and I thought that maybe we hadn't changed that much and we could get it all back."

Apparently she didn't care enough to answer him. Instead she made empty threats, said empty things, the way she'd always done. And he realized that he had changed enough that now he cared. He shook his head. "Maybe this whole thing hasn't changed you, but I know it's changed me. I'm nearly seventeen, Tam. I'm nearly a man. I don't want to act like a kid anymore. And if you're not prepared to grow up, then," he gulps, "I'm not prepared to be with you."

[DON'T DO IT PETER!!!]

Tam felt her eyes welling with tears but she kept looking right at him, "Do you mean that? Because if you do then I don't think we have anything left to say to one another. Do we?" Belatedly Tam thought of Hashbee but Peter had him at the moment and she knew that he would be safer there. She was never meant to be a mother and she knew it, as much as she loved them both she would have to let them go.

[RACHEY WE NEED TO FINISH THIS!]

George walked through the castle, lost in thought, but with a smile on his face for the first time in a week. He sighed and sat down on the bottom stair, not knowing where to go.

Dean comes storming into the castle after his fight with Angela. He quite literally almost runs into George. He snapped "Why are you sitting there?!"

[Here we go again..*sigh*]

[this is really getting boring...XD today's the last one though.]

George looked startled as Dean nearly stepped on him. "HEY! Oh..Dean." the words Dean spoke sunk in. "I can sit on the steps of Hogwarts if I so choose!"

[Sorry, I'm chatting with my family..]

"Yeah. Whatever" He made to start walking up the stairs.
