Somewhere by the Lake

"I like the sound of that." Kras grinned. With his arms around Reed's waist, Kras lifted Reed and spun him in a circle, laughing as he kissed him and set him down. "I am, like, seriously in love vith you. And you're going to look marvelous in votever you decide to vear. After ve cuddle can I votch you figure out vot to vear?"

Reed let out a squeal of laughter when Kras actually spun him around like he's seen in the movies before. "I am seriously in love with you too you big goof. And you absolutely may not watch me decide what to wear! It has to be a surprise! I want to dazzle you. Mom sent me the new catalog, so I'll probably get something out of there." He shrugged a little.

Kras pouted, but he did like the idea of being surprised. "Vell, I suppose I can vait and be surprised. I'm sure I vill be more than properly dazzled." He chuckled. "Now," he whispered quietly, close to Reed's ear, "how about those cuddles and kisses?"

Reed shivered when Kras whispered in his ear. "Don't do that! We're semi in public. C'mon!" He grabbed Kras by the wrist and started dragging him back towards the castle, grabbing the empty box along the way. "Oh hey! So the other day, I was talking to Jenna, and I had an idea. What if we like, maybe try and set her up with Trey next year? I mean, I don't really know his preference or anything, but it's worth a shot. If it doesn't work, they could always just be friends too. He just seems so shy, I want him to be able to have some friends when he gets here."

Inner!Trey is flailing about and blushing. Bwahaha.

"Vait, vot?" Kras asked, chuckling. "Vell, I guess it is vorth a shot. Just don't push it on him too fast. Let them be friends for a vhile first. I have a feeling Trey's going to need quite a bit of time to get used to interacting vith so many people before he'll be able to focus on having a relationship." He moved Reed's hand from his wrist to his hand so they could hold hands while they walked back. "I think I could see them together though. It might be rather cute." Trey definitely wasn't that bad looking, and neither was Jenna. So they'd be a rather attractive couple.

Hehe, awww Trey *huggles*

Reed nodded. "I agree. And Jenna said her and Vee will come to the prom, I said we could all hang out as along as they don't mind us being all mushy and stuff." He giggled and the two entered the castle and Reed steered them towards the common room.

[ooookkaaay *sways*]

Jenna traipsed around the grounds, looking for the perfect thinking spot. She came across a little pile of small boulders by the lake and decided that this would be a good place to just sit and think for a little while. She sat down and stared across the glassy water, and laughing quietly to herself as the Giant Squid retrieved a Quaffle that had made it's way into the lake.

Miela landed just beside the lake. She had just returned from Diagon Alley, though she wasn't supposed to be there, and in her hands, was her special package for tonight. Excited, she started to make her way across to the castle, when she realized with horror that there was a pretty girl just sitting not far from where she landed. After observing for a while, she deemed the girl as no threat, and decided that no time would be better than the present to start making friends. Taking a huge breath, she stepped to the side of the girl and said “Hi.”

Jenna jumped a little bit when all of a sudden she heard a 'hi' from behind her. She turned around to see a pretty girl who she recognized from around but didn't actually know. "Hi, I'm sorry but, who are you?" She didn't mean to sound rude but she kind of wanted to know who she was talking to.

A little taken aback, Miela taught back to all the lessons she had learned in trying to make friends, but she realized with a sinking heart that she has no experience or any knowledge to speak of. With a bit of an effort, though on the outside she still looked as cool and collected as she always does, she replied “My name is Miela, I’m a sixth year from Gryffindor. Am I bothering you?”

Jenna tried to smile warmly in an attempt to calm Miela down. "I'm sorry, I'm Jenna sixth year Hufflepuff." Jenna reached out her hand for Miela to shake. Desperately trying to un-mess up what she had messed up. Jenna was no good with people! She wasn't charismatic or funny or charming and she was all too blunt for anyone's good. But she was working on that.

Seeing the other girl break into a warm smile, Miela relaxed reached out her hand to shake Jenna’s while bowing simultaneously. It’s a sign of respect in her country.

“Yes, I know, I remember you from the hallways; I always thought that you were very pretty.” Miela smiled at the girl, she liked how the sun played on the other girl’s hair, and had always loved red-heads. Sneaking a look at her own hair, she realized that it needed another colouring as black roots were starting to show.

“Beautiful day isn’t it?” Miela said, trying to make small talk. Think, she scolded herself, what would else would you say to a friend?

Jenna was a little taken aback at seeing the other girl bow to her, but she figured it would be polite to do the same. And then she turned beet red when Miela called her pretty, it wasn't exactly something she was used to other than her family and maybe one or two close friends. "Thanks, you're really pretty too." Jenna was serious but it sounded kind of half-assed so she felt bad about it. "Yeah, beautiful day, perfect for Quidditch..."

“Quidditch…I have seen you play. You are very good on a broom stick.” Miela had been amazed when she saw her first game. There was never anything like this back from where she came from. “It seems like a lot of fun to be flying around on a broom stick, but doesn’t it hurt? Especially after sitting on it for so long?”

Jenna turnes even more red, if that were possible. "Well, I have been training since I was five. It kind of runs in the family. My dad was a professional Keeper and now he's the coach of Puddlemere United. And it hurts at first but you don't even notice it after about a month." If anyone was used to sitting on a broom, it was Jenna.

Miela laughed, “Wow that is amazing. I don’t think I could ever get used to that feeling. Although I have to say, your hard work paid off, what runs in the family doesn’t necessarily mean that everyone is entitled to it.”

Staring out at the lake, Miela though that it was nice, just sitting, talking to someone who doesn’t have any ulterior motive for talking to you, when suddenly, she thought of the perfect topic to talk about.

“Jenna, are you going to prom tonight?”

Jenna grinned, "Yeah, are you? Do you know what you're going to wear? Because I am having some, err technical difficulties." Jenna shrugged, she'd figure it out and manage to pull herself together when the time came. It always worked, somehow.

“Yup!” Miela nodded enthusiastically. “But I am going alone, the whole point of prom for me was to make some friends, or at least get to know some people.”

Miela looked at the other girl, and continued saying, “But I can’t believe that you have trouble finding something nice to wear, for someone of your built, you’ve got good proportions, whereas for me, I had tailor make a whole new outfit in Diagon Alle-”

Miela stopped in mid-sentence, suddenly aware that she had let down her guard too much, and accidentally blurted out her secret trip to Digaon Alley. Blushing on the inside, Miela tried to think of a way to salvage the situation.

Jenna smiled. "I won't tell anyone about your trip to Diagon Alley. I promise, I'm no snitch. I don't have a date, so Vee (do you know her? She's our year, Hufflepuff as well) and I are going together as best friends. If you want, you can come along too." Jenna was being super friendly today, especially for someone with as few people skills as her.

Miela eyes grew wide. Maybe Toji Ojisama (Grandfather Toji) was wrong, maybe there are still nice people around, who want to be friends with you just because they want to.

“Yes!” Miela said excitedly, “I would be extremely honoured to go with you and your friend, Victoria Black. I do hope I am not intruding though. Thank you so much for inviting me Jenna.” Miela stood up, brushing off the grass that are stuck to her skirt, “I have to go now though, there are still a lot of preparations I have to deal with before the prom starts, Shall we meet at the entrance to the Great Hall then? You decide on a time.”

(Sorry, love, it’s 12Midnight here, and my next job is starting at 12.30AM, so I need to get out of my house, should be in front of a computer in about half an hour though, if you are still around?)

[It's 12:00 noon here, and I have to go. I should be back this afternoon though in about four-ish hours. Stupid school.]

"How about seven-ish? I can't promise you I'll be there on the dot. Something tragic, will happen and I'll be a few minutes late. And by tragic, I mean by my friend's standards. And not mine." Jenna laughed. "This is going to be so much fun! And I'll see you later 'gater!"

[Sorry for the late reply love, only got home.]

"That sounds great!" Miela beamed, happy that though it wasn't technically a date, it was definitely much better than going alone.
