The Grand Staircase

"Oh, ok then." Demelza said slightly confused. "How has school been so far?" Demelza asked, "Been up to anything interesting?"

"Except for meeting people, including Alice, who happens to be my soul sister, and catching up with a couple of friends, completely boring and uninteresting," Milli replies cheerfully. "Well, I did meet Viktor Krum, which was exciting. I mean, how many people meet Quidditch stars who go to their school? You?"

"Same really, catching up with people, and boring stuff. Except I didn't meet Viktor Krum? How was it meeting him?"

"Really cool," Milli giggles. "We talked about Quidditch quite a bit. I told him I played Seeker and could Chase a bit too and he said that was talented," she brags, puffing with pride. Yeah, she's a bit creepy. But hey, she has to be. She goes all creepy fangirl 'round Harry.

"That sounds so cool. I didn't know you could play quidditch. Are you going to try out for the team this year?"

"Nah," Milli laughs. "I've decided I'm going to try and focus on my studies this year. OWLs are coming up. Gotta be ready for 'em. How about you? Do you play?"

"Yeah, I play chaser. I really want to get onto the team. I've been practicing hard all summer, so I hope I'm good enough to make the team."

"I'm sure you will Dem!" Milli says sincerely. "I'm sure you're great."

Demelza blushed and smiled. "Thanks Milli!"

Milli smiles. "No problem! So anything else new with you?"

"No, not really the school year has just started. All I've really done is hang out with a few people and school and homework. What about you?"

"Yup, same. But, the year is still young!! There is plenty of time to be exciting and entertaining and all that jazz."

"Thats right! I mean, anything can happen. We'll just have to wait and see what fun and exciting things happen at Hogwarts this year!"

"Exactly!" Milli checks the watch that she wears. "Oh dearie me! Look at the time! I really must be off. Nice catching up with you Dem!" Milli hugs her friend and skips up the stairs.

Dem hugs Milli back. "It was nice to see you Milli! I hope to see you again soon!" She then remembered that she had some homework to attend to and went back up to the common room.

Lavender is walking down the Grand Staircase humming randomly.

Audrey skips down and see's Lavender. Walking over she introduces herself, "Hi! I'm Audrey."

[I'm assuming we don't know each other]

Lavender smiles as someone comes up and introduces themselves. "Hi! I'm Lavender! Nice to meet you!" She noted that the girl was a Ravenclaw and smiled even wider. "Hey! You're in Ravenclaw. Well, duh, I've been meeting more Ravenclaw's in the past few days." Yes. She is rambler.

"Really? Cool! You're a gryff right?" Audrey saw some hotties walking into the great hall and whistled under her breathe, "Damn they're fiiiiiine"

Lavender stared at the girl with wide eyes, sensing a kindred spirit. "Oh my gosh! You like boys too! Well, I mean..like like boys. You know what I mean?" She giggles at how stuid she sounded.

Audrey giggled too, "I luuuuuuurve boys! So anyone you have your eye on in gryff?" Audrey sat down on the stairs to people watch, her favourite hobby.

"Actually there is! And there's one in Raveclaw too!" She sat beside the girl, practically bouncing with the prospect of being able to gossip. "Seamus is the boy in Gryffindor, and this guy Louis is the one in Ravenclaw. How about you?"

"Really! Wait, Louis Weasley! Damn girl you have good taste!" She smiled at Lav, "So what does Seamus look like? I don't think I know him."

"You know Louis! So far I think he's topping my list so far!" She giggled and then wondered if there was any competition with this girl. "Seamus is, sort of short. Which I know is a setback. He's got blonde hair and totally gorgeous brown eyes. And! He's from Ireland, so he's got a sexy Irish accent!"

"Ooo I love accents!" Audrey leaned in a little, "What do you know about one Oliver Wood?"
