The Shrieking Shack

Remus stormed into the Shack, kicking over a few odd pieces of furniture, and slammed the door shut behind him. He slid down the wall and drew his legs up, resting his forehead on his knees. Still shaking with anger, he just wanted to destroy something, anything, but he forced himself to stay seated. He'd stay here until he cooled off. There was no way he could face anyone until he'd calmed down. The wolf was ready to attack anyone that came close, and Remus couldn't let that happen. What was I thinking?! He'd only meant to knock Dolohov around a bit, not nearly murder him. Things had gotten way out of hand.

*It hadn't taken Hermione long to figure out where Remus would go - if the wolf was in control, he would likely go to the place most familiar to him right now: the Shrieking Shack. She makes her way through the tunnel and into the dilapidated old building, and silently moves through the rooms until she finds Remus. The dead giveaway is the door that had obviously been slammed so hard it was practically falling off its hinges. She eases it open and takes a few steps towards Remus, curled against the wall and shaking with anger. When there's just a few feet between the two of them, she stops, looking down at him. She doesn't speak, doesn't move. She wants to hold him and calm him in any way she can, but she just doesn't know if he's ready for that yet. So, she waits.*

He knew who was there, could smell who it was, but right now she was one of the last people he wanted to be near. He hardly had himself under control yet, and he'd never forgive himself if he hurt her. His hands clenched tightly into fists and he refused to look up at her. He wouldn't blame her if she was mad at him. Letting himself lose control like that and almost killing someone, even if that person was Dolohov. In all thought, she should be terrified of him at this point. She shouldn't have came. Not while I'm still like this. Doesn't she realize I could still hurt her? A low growl rumbled in his throat and he snapped at her harshly. "Go away."

*Quite frankly, the thought that Remus could hurt her is still a foreign concept to her, and it seems to go in one ear and out the other whenever he tells her so. Somehow, she just knows that he wouldn't cross that line - she's seen him do it before, destroy a whole room around her and yet leave her completely untouched. Maybe somebody else in her shoes would be inclined to want to get herself and her baby as far away from him as possible, but she doesn't think like that, she just thinks that there's no earthly way he would ever, ever do anything to harm her or the cub. And now, she is angry. She can't believe he would be so willing to throw his whole life down the toilet over Hovvle, especially after promising her he would leave it be. Her eyes narrow and she stands her ground.*

He pushed himself up off the floor and shoved her roughly back against the wall, his anger, and wolfy, getting the best of him. Just as quickly as his anger had struck he backed up, amber eyes glowing with horror. What the hell was he doing?! Fuck. "Sorry." He spun around and stood there, gasping for air, silently willing her to leave, to understand that he didn't want to be like this. He just needed to calm down, get back under control. Yet he didn't want her to leave either. Why was he being so stupid? He should have just left Dolohov alone, but no, he just had to let his anger take over. What would happen to him if he had actually killed Dolohov? Definitely nothing pleasant, that's for sure.

*Hermione winces as her back hits the wall, her wide brown eyes locked onto the animalistic amber orbs glaring into hers. She takes a deep breath when he apologises and spins around, and calmly takes out her wand.*

*Thin cords fly out of her wand, winding around his wrists and his ankles, knocking him to the ground. Putting her wand away, still moving slowly and deliberately, she walks over to him, rolls him onto his back, and sits on the tops of his legs. Her eyes are apologetic - she must be hurting him, what with the injuries he already sustained during the fight, but she doesn't relent.*
