Malfoy Manor

Draco stared while he did up the zip on the back of her dress. And he's still staring because hot damn she looks good.

Oh I guess I should post the dress. Here it is. Pansy glanced at him again, as he'd fallen silent all of a sudden and he looked like he was in a bit of a daze, which unicorn Pansy doesn't understand. "You okay?"

Draco blinked a couple of times and slid his arms around her waist, "Yeah I'm fine." He leaned in and gave her a kiss, "You are absolutely stunning, I have no idea how my mother expects me to notice any of the prissy little heiresses tonight."

Pansy would have blushed, if she were one to blush. And maybe she did right now, she couldn't be positive. It'd be a first that was for sure. "Well, thanks." She glanced down again fixing how the front of it was laying, rearranging the bow a little, something to occupy her mind and her hands for the moment, she couldn't concentrate on anything more complicated or even answer him further, not with him looking at her like that.

Draco slid a finger under her chin and lifted it up so she was looking in his eyes, "You are beautiful," He leaned in and kissed her, trying not to crush her dress in the process. He was pretty sure her mother would not be happy if he did.

Pansy, now more than before, couldn't concentrate on anything, couldn't figure anything to say to him. She kissed him back before pulling away slightly, but kept eye contact with him since his finger was still under her chin. She couldn't make herself say thanks again, she felt like she'd said it too many times already and it became meaningless. So she could only give him a little crooked half smile, feeling absolutely more shy than she'd felt in a long time.

Draco smiled at her and gave her another soft kiss before wandering over to his own closet to get dressed because if her mother showed up to find her and he was wandering around in his underwear she would not be pleased. Nope. He pulled out all the things he needed and dropped them on his bed before dressing quickly. Grabbing his bowtie he walked over to the mirror to do it up.

Pansy stood in front of the mirror while he dressed, trying to decide what to do with her hair. Maybe she would just curl it a bit and leave it down, or maybe she'd actually take the time to put it up tonight. There was plenty of time to do it. As Draco walked over she laughed, pushing his hands away. "You always do it crooked. Here." She took up his tie in her fingers, doing it quickly and smoothing it out, adjusting it a little until it looked nice.

Draco smiled when she took the bowtie and tied it for him, "Thanks, it looks great." He stood in front of the mirror and ran his fingers through his hair, neatening it up and adding a tiny bit of gel just to get it to stay but not enough to solidify it.

"Very handsome." She reached up and put a stray hair into place, running her hand over his shoulder in the pretense of dusting it off. "Need anything else? I should probably go find mum soon, unfortunately." She leaned against his dresser boredly, watching him as he checked again in the mirror, obviously a little nervous about looking as good as he could, as his parents expectations of him were exceptionally high and she knew he wanted to impress them. "You look fine, stop worrying."

Draco shook his head, "I'm good, though don't think for a second I want you to leave to go assist your mother." He shot her a wry grin when she said to stop worrying, "Thanks," he slid his arms around her and pressed a kiss to her cheek, careful not to muss his bowtie or her bow.

"What, are you going to hold me captive here until the dragon comes to steal me to do her hair?" She smirked at him, leaning back a little so they wouldn't squash the nicer part of their clothes, though their waists were still a little together. Her hand strayed up to his bowtie again, pulling out a wrinkle in it and fixing it absentmindedly.

Draco smiled at her as she fiddled with his bowtie, "Actually I'll release you a little before the dragon comes, I'm afraid to see her without her perfect hair and makeup, the sight might scar me for life."

"It very well might. Only the strong can survive something like that, and I'm afraid you're not ready. Only the strong can witness something so terrifying and live." She grinned at him, her hands moving to hold onto his, her fingers weaving between his own. "But I'll save you from the dragon, so it will be alright."

Draco smirked and leaned in to kiss her gently, "What a brave soul you are Pansy. Are you sure you weren't supposed to be a gryffindor?" He grinned at her and squeezed her fingers. But seriously he didn't think he would live after seeing Muffy like that.

Pansy grimaced at him at the thought of being a Gryffindor. "Draco, honestly could you see me as a Gryffindor? And ignore the fact that this dress is red. It's Christmas after all." Like she said, only the strong survive after that. Pansy's always been a badass, even if it is only badass as far as surviving seeing her mother in a certain state of not-made-up. And like clockwork, a shrill shouting echoed through the hall outside his door, someone shouting her name rather angrily. Pansy groaned and leaned up to kiss him on the cheek before slipping away from him. "Apparently I'm being summoned."

Draco held onto her hands for a second, kissing her on the cheek, good luck. He heard the banshee scream again and put his hands over his ears, "Quick, you need to turn it off." He waved at her as she dashed out of the room.

Pansy laughed at his weakness at dealing with her mother and slipped out the door, hurrying down the hallway toward her mother and following quickly behind her toward her room where she was immediately put to work on her mother's hair. She never could understand why she didn't just get a servant or house elf to do it, but Pansy always had to do her mother's hair, and that's just the way it was.

And that would be a great reason that Pansy has to be the one to do her mother's hair. No one else could handle it. And that's a miracle, what she's managed to do from picture one to picture two. Pansy, you're surprisingly good with doing hair considering you don't do much to your own. She escaped after making her mother presentable, well, in a matter of speaking, slipping back to Draco's room before she could be corralled up for another job. "Hey you."

Draco looked up from his book when she came in, "Hey. How's the dragon looking now? Any improvement or worse than ever? Will I need sunglasses for all the diamonds?"

"Well, sunglasses are always a necessity with her, but sometimes I shock myself with the wonders I can do with my wand and her hair. She's actually quite presentable, her dress choice being the exception to that." She laughed and moved the rest of the way into his room, shutting the door behind her. "How much longer until we have to go down and pretend to like people?"

Draco checked his watch, "Only thirty minutes. Ugh. Well only thirty minutes until we're expected down there, forty five until we have to play nice with the heirs." Draco rolled his eyes, dreading the evening ahead.

"Not long enough. So not looking forward to spending the evening with a bunch of spoiled foreign brats again. I wish mum didn't make me do this, or she could just team up with dad and pick a few and they could just come over casually or something. But at balls? I hate it..." Pansy pouted, crossing her arms and sitting in one of the chairs he had off to the side in his room. Sure, her dress may be wrinkling, but a little magic could straighten it out again, and she didn't really care that much.

Draco glared out the window and up the driveway which would soon be filled with carriages. "I know exactly what you mean. If only the didn't parade every girl under the age of 25 in front of me, hoping I'll pick one. I mean really, they have almost no criteria aside from the girl not be some sort of hideous lake monster and the parents have to be well connected and whatnot. That's it though. Crap if you ask me but no one ever does." He shook his head, "Save a couple of dances for me though, I'll need rescuing and so will you."
