Under the Trees

"But, the thing is Reed that, in case you haven't noticed, I'm slightly danger prone too. Remember the other day when I fell off of the couch in the common room, twice? because I was laughing so hard?"

"Well yeah, but do you have the need to carry around a first aide kit with you every where you go? Look what I did today." He shifted a little and rolled up the sleeve of his shirt and showed Jenna his scraped up elbow. "Don't tell Kras, because he'll freak out for no reason, but I was coming down from Divination, and that ladder hates me. I swear it has it out for me. Anyways, I sort of fell when I was a few feet from the bottom..." He blushed and rolled his sleeve back down.

Jenna nodded in agreement when Reed told her to not tell Kras about his scrape. They both knew all too well that he would overreact. "I know exactly what you mean Reed, that ladder has it out for me too! I wish I'd taken Muggle Studies instead."

Reed nodded in agreement. "Me too. Plus Trelawney scares me sometimes. The way she just like, floats out of the shadows sometimes. It just makes me think that she could be anywhere at any time. But at least we know she doesn't leave her tower all the much."

Jenna grinned, "I'm just glad I'll probably fail my Divination O.W.L. and I won't ever have to take it again! The only reason I took it was because maybe then I'd be able to predict when I got hurt but, no such luck." Jenna hung her head in mock dissapointment.

Reed flailed his arms and ended up smacking the tree. "Ow! But ohmygosh! That's the exact same reason I took it too! But I haven't predicted a single thing in that class. Yes, there will be no way I'll be able to take that class anymore. Nope."

Jenna laughed and smiled, "Ha! Now things are right in the universe and You and I are completely the same once again! And hey, we'll have more free periods when we used to be stuck with Trelawney. And, will someone please explain to me what on this earth she is still doing here? We all know that she lost it years back."

Reed smiled too. "Yes! We're back to our form of normal! And I think Dumbledore has a soft spot for her or something. Don't really know why. And I guess there are some people that are interested in that class." He shrugged a little. "But I don't really see the point of it."

Jenna nodded in agreement and tilted her head thoughtfully while considering the possibility that some people might actually want to take that class. "I guess so, I do wish I'd taken something else though, but there was only enough room in my schedule for two electives and the other one I'm taking is Ancient Runes."

Reed nodded. "Yeah, and I'm taking Arithmancy. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep taking that. I kind of like it, but it's also insanely complicated. I don't know yet, I guess I'll decide once the OWLs are over."

Jenna shrugged, "I think I'll drop Divination no matter what. I'm running out of bones that Professor Trelawney can predict that I'm going to break next Quidditch game. And I don't even want to start on those stupid star charts..."

"I've taken to just predicting I'll break a bone a day. She's had it out for me since the first day of class. I walked in and my foot caught on a table and I tripped and broke a couple crystal balls. Ever since then she just assumes I'm like cursed or something." Reed sighed a little then shrugged.

Jenna nodded and patted his shoulder sympathetically, "Almost the same thing happened to me, except we were doing star charts and I tripped and knocked all of them into the fire. There were no copies of any of them, ever since, she's been predicting nothing but broken bones and concussions for me."

[I'M SORRY!! I didn't forget about you, I swear! This thread just got kind of buried and I didn't see it...]

Reed winced. "Oooh, tough luck on that one. We should partner up in her class sometime! She's probably die of a heart attack!" He started giggling at what the teacher's reaction would probably be.

[That's okay, I had a bunch of family/school stuff going on anyway]
Jenna nodded vigorously at Reed's suggestion. "She won't only have a heart attack, but an apoplexy and an aneurism as well!" Jenna couldn't contain her laughter, even if it was a bit mean.

Reed smiled. "Well, we'll just have to do it next class, just to see her reaction. At least we're done with tea readings. Then she would for sure die."

Jenna grinned even wider (if that was even possible). "The only problem is that if we 'accidentally' kill her with our klutziness and lack of skills regarding the 'inner eye'. Then Trelawney might very well end up taking us down with her and the fall from the North Tower looks pretty scary and long."

Reed nudged his shoulder into her. "Well, I guess you'll have to start bringing your broom to class. Then you can save both of us. Right?" He smiled slyly.

Jenna nudged him back, still grinning; "I guess I will just have to. I'm lucky to be so obsessed, people just expect stuff like that from me by now. Like my lucky quaffle, that I take with me to every exam or quiz."

Reed tilted his head. "You take a quaffle with you to each exam? Interesting..." He was trying not to laugh at her, but he let a little giggle escape his lips.

Jenna blushed as red as her hair (or her quaffle). She gave Reed a shove, "Don't you dare laugh at me, I know for a fact that you have a lucky paintbrush so don't you dare talk. And to be quite honest, I'm only really surprised that you didn't already know."

Reed laughed. "Well, yeah I do, but I don't take it to exams with me. I just use it when I have a really strict deadline and need all the luck I can get." He shrugged like it was normal.

Jenna smiled and lightly smacked Reed on the shoulder, "I leave it in my bag you idiot (not really Reed, you know I love you). It's not like I take it and put it on top of my desk, I just like it there for mental calming."

Reed rolled his eyes. "Well, whatever you say sis." He reached over and ruffled her hair again. "Listen, I gotta get back to the dorm. I have a bunch of work to finish. Wanna walk with me back to the common room?"

Jenna squinched her face when Reed ruffled her hair, if anyone but Reed had ruffled her hair, if anyone but Reed had tried to ruffle her hair, they may very well end up meeting her trusty beater's bat. "Of course I'll walk back with you, why on earth would I say no?"
