Cormac enters the common room and sits by the fire. He sits down and wraps his arms around his legs and stares at the fire.

Penny walked into the common room after class. she froze when she saw Cormac. she hadn't seen him in the longest time. "hi..."

Cormac looked up, "Hey Penny." He turned his head back to the fire.

she dropped her book bag and sat in a chair. "erm. how's it going?"

"Good." Cormac flashed he a reassuring smile. "Got out for a few days and went huntin with my Uncle. Lots of Quidditch. How about you?"

"uhm alright. sounds fun." she glanced around the room, feeling rather awkward

"How are you Penny?" Cormac glanced back to the fire. "Still with Marcus?"

"Can we not go back to being normal Penny?" Cormac stared at the fire. He didn't once look at Penny.

Cormac's throat started to croak a bit. "Of course." Cormac paused. "Friends."

Penny felt awful. she wanted to reach out and hug him but she wasn't sure how productive that would be at this point. "alright. friends...i want you in my life too Cormac..."
