The Stone Steps

Aidan walked up the steps, remarking to himself on their stonyness.

Vee is sitting not too far away, reading. She noticed Aidan, and waved hi.

sorry it took so long...

Aidan waved back, and in the process, managed to trip over the next step, landing comically on his butt. He scrambled to pick up the papersnow fluttering through the air. Most evaded him.

Vee laughed as she watched Aidan trip. "I'm sorry!" She gasped between laughs. "You just looked- So funny!" Eventually she stopped laughing. But it was very funny.

Our collective ego hurts, maddie.....

Aidan lunged for the last piece of parchment, and as he flew through the air, time seemed to slow. The sheet was just about to be within his grasp, when a scrawny, brownish, tabby paw sliced twice through the air, claws out. Aidan landed hard on his belly, looking up into the piercing yet muddy eyes of Ms. Norris. Like that, his two days of work on a charms assignment was in shreds.

*kicks ego* I don't care!

Vee looked at Mrs. Norris. "Shit. We better get out of here." She said, looking all around for Filch. "This way!" She pulled Aidan up and dragged him to a door in the side of the castle just as she heard someone with uneven footsteps and ragged breathing open the main door.

*hides ego, strikes heroic pose*
Before he could stand, Vee had grabbed his shirt, and was dragging him through the nearest hole in the castle wall with absurd strength. "How are you so strong!?"

*throws blanket over heroically-posing leo*

"Years of practice, lots of Quidditch. I played as a beater last year." Vee explained, edging into the secret passageway. "Do you think you'll try out for the team?" She asked Aidan.

*stumbles about under blanket clumsily until he stubs something in true Leo and Aidan fashion*

Aidan looked over at her, trying to picture her in a ridiculous beater cap. He chortled. "I was planning to. Remember, I play Quodpot, so its not too different." He began to take out his wand, the lighting spell on the tip of his tongue, but put it away. He could see light at the end of the *cliche-filled* tunnel. "I wanted to try out for seeker. How about you?"

*laughs at clumsy leo*

Actually, beater really wasn't Vee's favorite position. "Oh, I'm going out for Seeker as well!" She laughed. Poor Aidan, she was already Rose's second in command apparently. He should be keeper! Vee looked down at the cliche-filled tunnel. "Oh, there's no way we are getting out of here without light, Aidan. That light is an illusion, it's not actually the end of anything." She sighed, lighting the tip of her own wand and leading the way down the dark, dank passage.

*flails uselessly on ground while maddie laughs*

"Ooooohhhhh, my competition! I was also thinking of trying for keeper, but I figured that that would be taken already." Aidan said, by now unfazed by the near-constant illusions and oddities he encountered in hogwarts. Aidan watched as Vee brought out her wand, and whispered the spell. "You know the captain or something, right?"

Bahahahaha

"Competition is healthy I suppose." Vee nodded. "Oddly enough, I don't believe anyone is trying out for keeper. But I might not know." She added. "And yeah, the captain is one of my Best friends. She's really nice."

*more flailing*

Aidan raised his thick eyebrows at the keeper comment. Continuing, he said, "Rose, right? You talk about her a lot." He liked his friendship with Vee, and was seriously considering going out for keeper if it meant not putting them at odds. "Whats she like?"

*laughs at flailing figure*

Vee finds it a bit funny that Aidan thinks she could hold a grudge. She's incapable of it. She and Maddie put together have only held 1 and that was Leo bruising Maddie's hair in gym. "Yeah, Rose! She's very nice. Smart, hence Ravenclaw." She smiled

*leo is done flailing now*

Aidan laughed. "I should really try to make some friends. Somehow, I probably see her everyday, and manage to only have ever heard of her through you!" These days, Aidan's time was split between catching up on the last three months of Hogwarts homework and all current assignments, and being very, very lost in the bowels of Hogwarts castle.

*is glad*
"Eh, I didn't really make friends until last year. I was shy. But then I was like 'This isn't cool. I have no friends.' so I stopped being shy. Sort of." Vee laughed. "But yeah, I'm sure you've seen her. She has bright red hair, very nice is is creeping the thread. Yeah. You guys will have to meet!" Vee likes making friends and hopes Aidan does too. She continued walking in a seemingly random pattern. "Yeah, there is a lot of Homework here." She conceded.

Dee stops halfway down the stairs, lights a blunt, and poops.
