The Fireplace

Penny noticed Marcus walk in and buried her head in her knees

Faye walked into the common room and sat down, looking between Marcus and Penny. She was, like, WTF?

Marcus saw what Penny was doing and couldn't help but look the other way and feel awkward.

Penny looked up when she heard another person enter the room. she was relieved to see it was Faye and shot her a pleading look, a "Get me out of here" look

Marcus looked over at Faye feeling even more awkward now. He couldn't help but break the silence. "Hey Faye. What's up?"

Faye walked over to Penny and sat beside her, "Hey, Penny. Want to go hang out in a random corridor?"

she nodded gratefully at Faye, and pulled herself up off the floor, avoiding Marcus' gaze the entire way out of the common room

Faye turned her head back to glance at Marcus and gave a small wave, before leaving with Penny.

Marcus looked away as Penny passed him. Not even wanting to see her face. After they left he got up and went to his dorm.

Flint walked down into the common room and sat on the couch because he was bored and nobody has been down here since Sunday.

[wow why hasnt anyone been to the firplace for like 6 days?!?!?! WTF!]

Flint sits down on the couch and puts his feet on the table.

Penny wandered down to the fireplace area from her dorm, intent on curling up with a book. she stopped dead in her tracks when she noticed Marcus

Marcus noticed Penny walk in and didn't want to feel completely awkward around her for the rest of his life. "Hey Penny."

"umm Hi" she stayed rooted to her spot, feeling completely awkward.

He turned to look at her wondering why she was just standing there. "You can come sit down, you know? If you want to."

she looked confused "but you hate me."

"I don't hate you." He gives a slight smile but not too big of one. "I don't hold grudges."

Penny looked warily at Marcus, and inched over to the nearest couch she could get to, sitting down

"So, what's new with you?"

her eyes widened a bit at Marcus' question, thinking of Cormac, but she decides not to bring him up quite yet. "uhh not much. you?"

"Ummm, pretty much just hanging out." Marcus notices her eyes widen but decides he probably doesn't want to know why.

she nods a little, "yea pretty much same" she looks down awkwardly at the book in her lap

He notices she feels awkward and decides to change the subject. "So what book are you reading?"

"oh this? just something my mum sent me." she was a little flustered

"Nice... is it good?"
