The Hogwarts Spring Gala

He looks around while sipping at his drink feeling sort of glad that he doesn't have a date because he'd never really danced before in his life. He didn't really know if he was a good dancer or not.

Not yet, he seems to be a Daddy's boy at the moment. *she smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck* So what have you been up to?

[Tamsy that dress in your avatar is gorgeous!!!! I'd have Remus show up but I don't think he even knows about the dance and he'd probably just want to stay in the HW anyways.]

-comes running in-
"Dennis! I'm back!"
-looks around-
"Dennis?"
-thinks- Has he left or something? Maybe he left when I did.
"Hmph."
-sits down-

Faye entered the ballroom in her red gown after watching Miley Cyrus cry on the big screen. She looked like she had a damn good plan.

Annie enters and looks around. She went over to get a drink.

Pansy narrowed her eyes at him. "Perhaps." She couldn't help but feel he liked using complex sentences to make himself seem more intelligent than he might be. She'd play his little game. Pansy leaned back comfortably, regarding him with a somewhat removed, curious air. "But who's to say it makes you more significant by ignoring what you know is good for you? What good does that do, if you know it and don't act on it?"

"I was actually just thinking about how absolutely beautiful you look," he told her, leaning his head down to give her a quick kiss on the lips.

Aww, thanks *she smiled up at him then rested her head on his shoulder carefully, mindful of her remaining bruises, artfully covered by makeup*

*looks over and sees a girl - second year, by the looks of her - sitting by herself* *walks over* Hi, I'm Padma. I don't think I've seen you around before.

meh, who cares. *scurries to the hole from whence she came*]

-looks up, surprised-
"Hi, I'm Natalie. I haven't ever been to one of these before..." -shyly- "My date has disappeared, but I'm sure he'll be back."

Penny sighed. there was NOTHING going on at the moment. she got up to get something to drink.

*nods*
It's my first time too. Shh. *pauses* You have a date? *is beginning to wonder why nobody EVER asks her to these things, and why she just came this time assuming to meet a few people*

-she laughs- "Yeah, it's Dennis - Dennis Creevey? He and his brother are in Gryffindor. His brother is making a yearbook of Hogwarts!"

After getting her drink, Annie sits at an empty table.

I've heard of them, yes, but I haven't actually met them.
So you're in Gryffindor too then, I assume?

"Yeah."
-looks around-
"What House are you in?"
-is slightly scared of this girl, because she looks a LOT older-

I'm in Ravenclaw. My twin sister is in Gryffindor! Do you know her? Her name's Parvati. I'm not sure if she was coming here, though. *frowns*

He looks at her, slightly worriedly, sensing that something was not right. "Something wrong?" he asks, swaying a little bit to the musc.

"Oh, wow. The smart house."
-pauses for a bit-
"No, I haven't heard of Parvati... I haven't really met very many people except Dennis, actually."
-abruptly stands up-
"I'm going to go get a drink..."
-walks over and gets a fruit punch-

Kingsley got up to get another drink but there was a girl in a pretty green dress already there so he waited near the drink table till she was done.

*could tell that this girl, Natalie, was slightly scared of her because of her age, and decides to leave her alone*
*sits near a couple other people who were both looking slightly lonely*

Penny looked up to see a tall dark and handsome man waiting to get at the drinks. "Can I get you somethin hun?" she winks

He smirked slightly. She was trying to win in this game, but he knew he was the master of it. He had a way with words, and although it sometimes made him sound cocky, the only reason that he could talk like this, and get away with it, was because he really was intelligent. "Because one of the prime concerns of teenage boys is impressing teenage girls. And somehow, we get this twisted conception that if we go against our instincts and do the cliched 'bad boy' act then then other people'll be impressed." He shrugs, and then adds, "and then, it's usually harder to do the right thing, isn't it?"
