New Messenger
Alright everyone,
So Eowyn and I were discussing how skype is a complete fail as of lately. Also, we never have calls anymore so it's kind of pointless. There are other options out there that would probably cause less issues for everyone. For example: aim, msn, yim (yahoo), etc.
So...if interested, please just take a moment and answer the poll. If you have another suggestion, feel free to click the other button and then go on to let us know what it is.

ALRIGHT, MY OPINION:
SKYPE HATES ME LET'S SWITCH. I DON'T REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT IT IS, I WANT *OUT*.

Re: New Messenger
WELL I HAD TYPED UP A POST BUT THEN MY LAPTOP PLUMMETED TO THE GROUND AND IT WENT POOF SOOOOOOOO...
Basically:
We should keep skype. As resident techy nerd I can tell you right now that none of the other normal chat applications will support our group chats. Not unless you all can swear to write in paragraphs and not spam.
The thing about skype is that your name and your text close together and it does not repeat your name if you post one message after another which is something that is almost only available on skype. Also most other chat interfaces have a limit on 5 people in a group chat.
RIGHT NOW I AM DOING RESEARCH ON THIS SO I'LL MAKE ANOTHER POST IN A BIT WITH ANY NEW INFORMATION I FIND.
IN THE MEANTIME EVERYONE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR SKYPE IS UPDATED. ESPECIALLY PC USERS.

Re: New Messenger
YEAH...that's a good point. But also...most group chats lately only have about five people at a time. I mean, group chats are slowly ending just like the calls have. It's not a matter of it being updated, mine definitely is because I had to download it the other day...it still fails for me a LOT and says "pending" and is just alkjdsffkjahsdfjk.

Re: New Messenger
I might have a solution.
Possibly.
Give me another half an hour and I'll know for sure.

Re: New Messenger
I feel like I deserve worship or something.
The website is www.meebo.com
What to do:
Make an account
PM ME YOUR MEEBO USERNAME
I'll start compiling a list and when you PM me your name/interface I will send you whoever's I have.
This might take a little at first to get everyone set up (I actually got mine done in under 10 mins but whatever) so bear with it.
There is a group chat option and it's a reasonably simple interface and HERE IS THE BEST PART: It is on the internet. No downloading of applications necessary. WHICH MEANS FOR THOSE WITHOUT ADMIN PRIVILEGES YOU CAN GET ON TOO!

Re: New Messenger
Additionally KEEP YOUR USERNAMES SHORT AND AS SOMETHING THAT WE CAN ALL RECOGNIZE AS YOU.
Re: New Messenger
I was going to suggest meebo.
Then I scrolled down and saw that Tam just found it.
It's alright. We used to use it back in high school to sneak on aim during class and talk to each other.

Re: New Messenger
It's fucking itself up right now.
I think we should just stick with skype and live with it.

Re: New Messenger
....I am just going to point out that I hate meebo and I am not going to use it....Just saying. I have one and I got it like a few years back and I just hate it. So....Yeah...Just saying....

Re: New Messenger
Most of the time my Skype is failing, it's because my internet spazzes. JS.
At least with Skype, if I'm over the download limit for the month (which I am at the moment), it still works, when meebo mightn't.

Re: New Messenger
The only good thing I could see about it at face value (haven't looked into it at all) is that I could access it at work.
That's actually probably a bad thing...

Re: New Messenger
I pretty much can't use Skype anymore because it messes with my laptop and crashed it a lot. Which is why I haven't been on Skype in ages.
I'd download it onto the house computer but that computer's even worse than my laptop. It'd probably freeze every 10 minutes or so. XD *sighs*

Re: New Messenger
I don't have good enough internet. It's hard enough talking to one person, forget chats.
